Henry Mountains and Canyonlands

Another flight from Hanksville, this time to the south over Henry Mountains,

and east to the Canyonlands.

The little town of Hanksville, with the Henry Mountains...

This is Utah, so of course a large LDS church with it's distinctive steeple...

Climbing up into the Henry Mtns.
Don't like flying in this terrain, cause nowhere good to land if engine stops.....

Finally got high enough to see over the other side.

The children's ditty came to mind and went round and round as I flew:

The bear went over the mountain,

The bear went over the mountain,

The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see,

And what do you think he saw?

And what do you think he saw???

The other side of the mountain,

The other side of the mountain

The other side of the mountain was all that he did see.......

Strange patterns, maybe mineral exploration....

The western edge of the Canyonlands

Those canyons go all the way to Moab to the east.
